Walton County conducted the first set of public workshops for the Walton County Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Code Update. The workshops were held on Tuesday, February 21, 2107 at the South Walton Courthouse Annex in Santa Rosa Beach, on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at the Rosemary Beach Town Hall in Rosemary Beach, and on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the DeFuniak Springs Community Center. At the workshops, attendees were introduced to the project and learned about the project scope, when the Comprehensive Plan Update will be completed, why Walton County is undertaking this effort, what the Comprehensive Plan is, how the Comprehensive Plan relates to the Land Development Code, and how the public can stay involved in the project. The public also had an opportunity to provide their input and ask questions about the Comprehensive Plan and project. The South Walton County Public Workshop on Wednesday, February 21st was live streamed by Walton County for viewing through the County website.
